- The play Entertaining Mr. Sloane was first produced in London in 1964, followed by short-lived Broadway run in 1965.
- This was the second screen adaptation of the play. It was previously adapted for British television and broadcast as an episode of ITV Playhouse in 1968.
- Beryl Reid reprised her role as Kath in a 1975 London revival of the play co-starring Malcolm McDowell in the title role.
